We are seeking a licensed dental professional to join our growing practice and provide comprehensive oral health care services to patients of all ages, with an emphasis on the teenage and adult population. The provider would be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and providing preventive, restorative, and specialty dental services for various dental conditions and diseases. Candidate must promote good oral health and educate patients about proper dental hygiene practices. General dentistry skills required. Advanced/specialty dental skills preferred (i.e. IV sedation, implant placement, molar endo, bone grafting, 3rd molar removal to name a few).

Description
The Associate Dentist role has three primary areas of responsibility:
- Competent Clinical Skills

The following job description provides an overview and understanding to help engage with training and coaching. This is designed to ensure there is necessary support to achieve performance standards.
Clinical Skills
- Trained in OSHA practices and follow protocols related to Bloodborne pathogen standard, Hazard Communication standards and other OSHA standards taught during OSHA orientation.
- Trained on HIPAA processes and implements our HIPAA process to fully respect and support patient privacy.
- Performs clinical services within or exceeding competencies established by and regulated by the State Dental Board.
- Oversees accuracy of auxiliary staff or personally conducts accurate documentation of, following established protocols for:
- Existing Oral Conditions
- Chief complaint
- Charting of oral landmarks and pathology
- Treatment plan and options
- Consultation with patient regarding findings, choice and patient preference
- Treatment completed.
Customer Service
- Warmly greets patients, introduces yourself, sincerely asks how the patient is doing
- Actively listens. Empathize where appropriate.
- Effectively utilizes the appointment time provided to patients to focus conversation on the patient, their needs, questions, and interests
- Patient Management: Respects all patients modeling empathy and kindness.
- When uncertain about your ability to help a patient who seems troubled, upset, or inappropriate, immediately reach out to your Clinical Mentor/Supervisor for assistance and support.
- Assures that patient has a seamless visit, after treatment has been provided, by communicating information to the auxiliary support staff for escorting the patient to the front desk for check out and “passing” the patient to the front desk staff. To effectively pass the patient, your auxiliary support staff must be knowledgeable of what has been done, what they need next, why they need it and when they should return. (What, What, Why and When.)
- Tailors patient education to relate to the patient’s goals and ability to comprehend information related to all aspects of oral health, hygiene, and restorative.

Duties
Occupation Specific Tasks:
- Administer anesthetics to limit the amount of pain experienced by patients during procedures.
- Advise and instruct patients regarding preventive dental care, the causes and treatment of dental problems, and oral health care services.
- Analyze and evaluate dental needs to determine changes and trends in patterns of dental disease.
- Design, make, and fit prosthodontic appliances such as space maintainers, bridges, and dentures, or write fabrication instructions or prescriptions for denturists and dental technicians.
- Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth, gums and related oral structures, and provide preventive and corrective services.
- Eliminate irritating margins of fillings and correct occlusions using dental instruments.
- Examine teeth, gums, and related tissues, using dental instruments, x-rays, and other diagnostic equipment, to evaluate dental health, diagnose diseases or abnormalities, and plan appropriate treatments.
- Fill pulp chamber and canal with endodontic materials.
- Formulate plan of treatment for patient's teeth and mouth tissue.
- Manage business, employing and supervising staff and handling paperwork and insurance claims.
- Perform oral and periodontal surgery on the jaw or mouth.
- Plan, organize, and maintain dental health programs.
- Produce and evaluate dental health educational materials.
- Remove diseased tissue using surgical instruments.
- Treat exposure of pulp-by-pulp capping, removal of pulp from pulp chamber, or root canal, using dental instruments.
- Use air turbine and hand instruments, dental appliances and surgical implements.
- Use masks, gloves and safety glasses to protect yourself and your patients from infectious diseases.
- Write prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications.
