National Chemical Laboratories, a Major Manufacturer of Cleaning and Hygiene Products for the industrial/institutional market seeks a Production Support Associate to assist in the day-to-day operation of our fast-paced production facility.

Position Summary:
We are a single shift, mixed mode manufacturing operation, meaning that the packaging and processing departments are planned independently but require close coordination. The Production Support Associate will play a vital role in the production and packaging process. This is a hands-on role which requires skills across multiple disciplines including strong mechanical aptitude, organizational skill, inventory management and production scheduling.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- · Monitor key performance indicators: downtime; production efficiency; labor cost; waste and on-time schedule /shipment completion.
- · Understand production objectives in alignment with company strategies and business initiatives. Plan personnel workloads based on daily production objectives. Improve processes while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- · Assist on production lines as required during critical times.
- · Perform basic mechanical repair/maintenance on filling equipment in order to minimize downtime and ensure unabated workflow.
- Maintain both physical and electronic inventory of production-related parts including equipment spare parts up to production consumables.
- Serve as a back-up to both Production Scheduler and Production Supervisor.
- Understand and manipulate MRP system to ensure production schedule is aligned with shipping schedule.
- Maintain and assure organization and cleanliness of Production floor and all applicable production areas in coordination with the production and shipping team(s) to avoid backup, overflow, production downtime and to eliminate potential workplace hazards.
- Effectively and efficiently creates written procedures or (SOPs), in coordination with the Plant Manager or other applicable departments, as necessary and when required.
- Participates in a daily production meeting involving the Plant Manager, Production Supervisor, Production Scheduler and Processing Supervisor.
- Keep the Plant Manager advised of constraints which would prevent on-time shipments.
Education Requirements and Skills:
Successful candidates should possess strong, analytical, organizational, mechanical and interpersonal skills. Candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills and strict attention to detail. Candidate must also possess a high level of computer proficiency (PC) with a good working knowledge of MS Windows/MS Office Products, especially Microsoft Excel, as well as scheduling/inventory control programs through a MRP (Material Requirement Planning) computer system.
An equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
