This role is eligible to participate in Zenith’s hybrid work schedule which provides the flexibility to work from home on select days of the week according to the in-office schedule established by regional executive leadership.
Under general supervision, oversees the operations, processes and workflow of multiple teams or jurisdictions. Manages large books of business which may include multiple jurisdictions. Provides guidance and training to personnel. Evaluates standards of performance of direct reports.
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provides soft skill training like coaching, mentoring and assists with development plans for supervisors as well as team members.
- Oversees case management of the overall teams.
- Provides guidance on more complex claims and approves large dollar reserve transactions.
- Assists and approves utilization of additional resources to get the right case outcomes.
- Evaluates teams in relation to one another.
- Develops plans on improving operational results within units of responsibility.
- Conducts periodic audits and quality assurance reviews on supervisors and direct reports.
- Maintains diary on larger or problematic cases or staff members.
- May also personally handle a small caseload of complex cases with high exposure.
- Assists branch management in the development of training material and any process changes needed.
- Conducts annual performance reviews on supervisory staff and/or direct reports.
- Provides on-going performance feedback to claims staff.
- Works with supervisors and/or direct reports on performance improvement plans or personnel issues.
- Works with units and accounts to enhance the level of service provided.
- Actively participates in claim team and branch meetings as needed.
- Meets with supervisory staff to set goals.
- Manages selected large accounts and assigns claims staff to manage other special or key accounts to ensure that customer service requirements are met.
- Participates in presentations of the company to potential customers.
- May give presentations to agency groups or other professional affiliates.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of training/experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of training/experience required
Experience Qualifications
- 5+ Years workers’ compensation claims experience required
Skills and Abilities
- Strong presentation and listening skills required.,
- Strong in data analysis, trending, benchmarking and measurements.
- Must be PC literate.
- Must have demonstrated leadership in current position.
- Expert knowledge of workers’ compensation and current case law.
- Meets all state regulatory standards regarding licensing, continuing education, and other requirements.
The expected salary range for this position is $118,704.57 to $148,380.72. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level.
