Sous Chef
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. A sous chef is responsible for providing supportive leadership to kitchen staff throughout food service. Main responsibility is assisting the Head Chef in monitoring kitchen operations, expediting orders to ensure quality, taste, & presentation. Must be able to take on additional responsbilities in the Head Chef's absence to ensure the kitchen staff has proper direction.
Sous Chef will oversee food preparation and cooking & help with training of new kitchen staff. This role requires a leader who is organized, efficient, and leads by example. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a keen eye for detail. Must demonstrate a positive attitude and a commitment to teamwork. To succeed in this job, a candidate must be able to effectively undertake the following day-to-day duties & responsibilities.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
-Oversee kitchen staff, including training and mentoring to ensure that all team members are performing to the highest standards. Delegate tasks in order of importance
-Taking charge of kitchen opening, closing, & other side duties as directed by the Head Chef
-Keeping the workstations & kitchen equipment clean, organized, & sanitized
-Ensure that all food safety and sanitation guidelines are strictly followed
-Preparing menu items to meet the specifications in a timely manner, ensuring any special requests are met
-Managing kitchen inventory & ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality. Also, communicating any loss of product & low items to Head Chef
-Using kitchen knives & equipment such as grill, oven, steamer, & warmers in the proper way to extend equipment life
-Ensuring kitchen staff adheres to set standards, procedures , department rules
-Properly measuring kitchen ingredients & food portions
-Demonstrate strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
**Requirements:**
-Minimum 3 years experience in a Sous Chef positon
- Experience with inventory management and kitchen operations
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with staff and guests
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
