SUMMARY
The Special Events Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all fundraising special events and donor cultivation events for the nonprofit organization. This role focuses on creating memorable events that engage donors, sponsors, and the community to support the nonprofit's mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Special Event Management
In coordination with the Director of Development and volunteer committee members plans and implements two annual fundraising events, along with additional smaller cultivation and stewardship events according to the annual fundraising plan.
· Plan and execute all aspects of fundraising events, including timeline, program, checklist, logistics, budget management, and vendor coordination.
· Establish, monitor, and report on revenue and expense goals related to fundraising events.
· Oversee all aspects of event solicitations, printed materials, and related communications, including pulling mailing lists, writing content for solicitation letters, printed invitations, and event programs.
· Collaborate with the development team to identify event sponsors and secure sponsorships; and ensure fulfillment of donor benefits.
· Manage, schedule, and coordinate with vendors, volunteers, and event staff to produce successful and smooth operations.
· Develop strategies to enhance attendee experience and donor engagement at events.
· Coordinate post-event follow-up, including donor stewardship and thank-you communications.
· Implement strategies to incorporate monthly giving initiatives into event planning.
· Work closely with the Development & Communications Manager to promote events through various channels.

Education and/or Experience
§ Bachelor’s degree preferred.
§ Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, special events, and/or communications.
§ Experience working in a non-profit environment a plus.
§ Working knowledge of fundraising principles and event execution/planning.
§ Ability to work productively and independently with minimal guidance.
Computer Skills
§ Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
§ Knowledge of and experience with fundraising CRM.
Communication Skills
§ Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
§ Knowledge of and experience with digital communication and social media platforms.
§ Excellent typing, editing, proofreading, and attention to detail.
Organizational Skills
§ Self-starter who is comfortable leading projects on his/her own as well as in teams.
§ Accurately perform administrative tasks.
§ Demonstrate punctuality related to meetings and deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
