Overview: Serves as the director for Environmental Services. Assumes 24-hour accountability for excellence in all aspects related to the medical center's cleaning services at three campuses, including laundry. Has substantial knowledge of healthcare infection control processes as it relates to methodology, equipment and chemicals to use safely in cleaning and disinfecting in a healthcare environment. A member of the Beebe's Leadership team. Knowledgeable of the medical center goals and mission, supports through the leadership of the department. All members of the Leadership Team who need to use a phone for business purposes must use a personal cell phone. Responsibilities:
The director provides 24-hour leadership to the Environmental Services Department staff and function at the main campus of Beebe Healthcare, the Rehoboth campus and the South Coastal Campus. Other locations may be added in the future. Works with manager and leads to ensure appropriate staff at all locations. Ensures staff are trained and competent in all aspects of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting as required by industry standards including CMS and Joint Commission. The training and competencies are documented. Assesses, recommends and develops appropriate ordering process to ensure adequate supplies and inventory of such supplies for all locations. Annual budgets reflect the appropriate purchases and inventory. Assesses, recommends and develops plans for the purchases of appropriate capital equipment. Ensures all equipment is maintained and operational. Capital budget development is based on this assessment. Develops staff for future promotions. Provides feedback formally and informally through Beebe's various systems including but not limited to 90-day evaluations, annual evaluations, huddles, one on one meetings and staff meetings.
Qualifications:
- Three years management experience in the area of environmental services management.
