Private golf club in Bristol Virginia Looking for an Assistant in our Events Department.
We are looking for an Assistant for banquets, work directly with the Banquet Chef and the Executive Chef to help prep run and execute Banquets and private events. If you have experience in private events looking to expand your knowledge and work in the Mountains send your resume.
The Assistant Chef in Banquets is responsible for supporting culinary management in all aspects of cost control, completing inventories and food requisitions, assisting training kitchen staff, supporting the chef and cooks as necessary, supervising the production of food at all stations while ensuring food quality is according to The Olde Farm standards. This position ensures that all government health regulations, industrial safety standards, corporate and departmental policies, and culinary standards are followed.
Job duties includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Fill in as needed at other venues
- Maintain consistent food quality standards.
- Monitor and improve consistency of food quality to enhance overall customer experience.
- Ensure standards and policies are available for staff to create and maintain a safe workplace and environment.
- Identify and report actual and potential problems to ensure workplace and environmental safety.
- Actively encourage and support team members to participate in decision making processes to assume responsibility.
- Identify best practices and determine quality and efficiency measures as benchmarks for own performance.
- People Management
- Ensure direct reports conform to policies and procedures as well as taking responsibility for issues while maintaining integrity.
Job requirements
- 2 years culinary experience
- Ability to work unsupervised, and work from a recipe
- Able to work under pressure and multi task
- To complete tasks in a timely manner able to meet deadlines
- Desire and ability to make our guests experience memorable
- This is a seasonal position, running from mid-March to First week in January.
- Housing is Available for the right candidate
