Job Summary:
First level mortgage loan closing position. Work and train with Senior Loan Closer to prepare mortgage loan documents, funding and closing disbursements. Review executed closed loan documents to ensure that closing documents are correct, meet all regulatory requirements, and secondary market and in-house loan product guidelines. Responsible for learning the bank’s loan operating system and document preparation that meet regulatory and compliance standards. Develop understanding of position and be able to work independently within six (6) months.
General Description/Duties:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Confirm date, time, and place of closing with loan originator, processing staff, and closing attorneys.

Prepare and coordinate closing packages and accurate closing instructions for closing attorneys.

Determine conditions that must be met prior to closing, or at closing conditions by reviewing the final underwriting approval. Request missing documents by contacting appropriate mortgage loan officer or processor.

Verify hazard (flood, if required) insurance coverage, review title, work to ensure first lien position.

Answer customer questions regarding real estate lending and closing process.

Coordinate with Secondary Market Associate to monitor unclosed locked loan report to ensure loans are closed and delivered to secondary market investors prior to lock-in expiration date.

Responsible for loan fundings, wiring funds, prior to closing disbursement reconciliation, and keying payoffs from closings.

Responsible for preparation of initial CD and tracking of delivery/receipt of disclosure.

Responsible for ensuring all closing timing requirements have been met prior to closing.

Determine if a loan meets investor, guidelines prior to closing by coordinating with closing attorney and by running automated system checks.

Assist in maintaining accurate closing calendar.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge of federal, investor, and bank regulations preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
