Assistant Superintendent
We are seeking to add a traveling Assistant Superintendent to our growing and talented Design-Build Company. This position requires the individual to be highly organized, safety minded and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This person will be an integral member of our construction team coordinating all aspects of onsite construction for a 114-year-old, fourth generation, family owned, design-build firm with a stellar reputation. Objectives of this Role
Alongside the Superintendent you will manage the day-to-day on-site construction operations which includes building and renovating for the commercial industry focusing on financial institutions. Effectively communicate and support clients, project team, subcontractors and pick up tools when needed. The purpose of this position is to work alongside a Superintendent for a period of 24 months, after which you will transition to managing your own projects as a full time Superintendent.
Responsibilities
· Assist the Superintendent with day-to-day construction operations
· Read and interpret job specs and plans to ensure a quality project is completed on time and within budget
· Review and coordinate project plans and specifications at the job site
· Assist in conducting inventory of materials, anticipate needs and requirements and continually coordinate with the project manager for uninterrupted flow of materials to maintain the work schedule
· Assist in upholding the project to schedule and budget
· Ensure safety by having a full understanding of all OSHA and COVID-19 requirements and compliance
· Permit supervision including scheduling inspections and meeting with inspectors on site
· Create work logs on a daily basis
· Assist the Superintendent in coordinating with staff on Interior Designs, Furniture, Branding and Technology Installations
· Ability to perform small carpentry work if needed
· Guarantee overall quality and workmanship
· Work with team to complete construction
· Follow company policies and standards
Qualifications
· Regular weekly travel with possible overnight stays to Downtown Pittsburgh and Somerset, PA
· 4-6 years’ experience as a carpenter; Bank and Credit Union experience is a plus
· Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good motor vehicle record
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Office, etc.) and iPad functions
· Clear written and verbal communication skills

· Walking on uneven surfaces
· Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50lbs
· Being on your feet for up to 6 hours a day
· Using carpentry tools and equipment necessary to perform tasks, including but not limited to installation
· Loading and unloading equipment and materials
