Human Resource Support Specialist

Worthington Schools is looking for a Human Resource Support Specialist who will help to attract and retain talent within the education field. This person is dedicated, hard-working, detail oriented human resources professional who loves to foster relationships with others. What you will do in this role:
- Support the hiring process from start to finish; posting, screening, interviewing, on-boarding
- Administers FMLA, ADA, Fair Labor Standards Act, and EEOC; keeps and maintains records for staff pertaining to these items
- Understands and implements the Union Contracts
- Prepares, facilitates and maintains educational permits and Rapback information in regards to staff requirements
- Develops and maintains proper eligibility list for employment, data collection, and federal, state, and local reporting requirements
- Administers and implements the provisions of various salary schedules
- Responsible for coordinating, developing, preparing and maintaining employment documentation and records for staff
- Evaluates and establishes priorities in order to meet District goals and objectives
- Hires and coordinates substitutes to ensure district needs are met on a daily basis
- Oversees and monitors DOT and local drug and alcohol program for safety sensitive positions
- Maintains the probationary evaluation process for all staff
- Provides support for employee understanding and tracking of Workers Compensation
- Analyzes trends, staffing levels, costs and projections in order to fulfill district needs
- Coordinates terminations and disciplinary recommendations
- Completes job audits and revises job specifications
- Provides administrative and employee support in regards to Human Resources
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelors in Human Resources or a two-year degree with a minimum of six years progressive experience preferred in Human Resources, that includes selections, coordination, analysis, and operations
- Considerable knowledge of employment laws and requirements; including federal, state, and local. Along with Ohio Revised Code, Ohio Department of Education and WESP
- Considerable knowledge of DOT, Worthington Schools Policies and Procedures and local rules and regulations for Drug and Alcohol Testing requirements for safety sensitive and non-safety sensitive positions
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to be objective, professional, maintain confidentially and foster positive work relationships
Salary Range: $65,000 to $85,000; Negotiable based on experience
