Job Description
Cornerstone Project is seeking a full-time Clinical counselor to be responsible for assisting the Clinical Staff, and others in coordinating, planning and delivery of services to all patients. The Clinical Counselor will also facilitate groups and documents client interactions, reactions and behavior in progress notes.
Requirements:
Education:
Maintain or increase competencies and required training.
Licensure/Certification: LCDCIIl or higher
MUST HAVE ACTIVE NPI & MEDICAID BILLING ID
Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience in the treatment of adults with addictive diseases or experience in inpatient treatment preferred.
- Requires basic computer skills.
- Requires a basic understanding of chemical dependency and 12-step philosophy.
- Experience working with respective population is preferred.
- Requires a current, valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
- If in recovery, two years of continuous sobriety is preferred.
Clinical Counselor Areas of Responsibilities:
- Ensures patient safety through maintaining confidentiality, verbal de-escalation techniques, and knowledge of policies and procedures regarding emergencies, performing security and safety checks and reports all patient issues to Clinical Director and Counselors
- Participates with patients in their therapeutic activities and uses interventions from treatment and plan care of patients.
- Facilitates groups and documents client interactions, reactions and behavior in progress notes.
- Demonstrates professional demeanor in dealing with all patient interactions, keeping in mind patients service standards.
- Accurately reports all relevant patient interactions or observable, potentially problematic behaviors to the nursing staff, Clinical Director and Counselors, in a timely manner.
