The Flora Bakehouse is seeking a full-time Lead Production Baker to join our team.
The Flora Bakehouse is located on Beacon Hill, and is part of the Cafe Flora family. Our mission is to put delicious baked goods that highlight seasonal ingredients out into the world.
The ideal candidate:
Two or more years of baking experience in a commercial setting.
- A degree from a pastry program is preferred.
- Comfortable using a proofer and commercial ovens.
- Comfortable leading a large team.
- Meticulous and detail-oriented.
- Great work ethic and an upbeat and friendly demeanor.
- Is highly aware of seasonality and local farm product availability.
About the Position:
- Works in pastry production
- Direct and supervise the production staff activities to make sure that products are up to standards
- Keeping a clean station and contributing to the overall cleanliness of the kitchen.
- Setting an example to the team that aligns with companies values
- Participate in ordering/inventory
- Works with senior managers to rotate menu items and introduce new ones as needed for the cafe/wholesale
- Manages with positive leadership
Must Haves:
Reliable transportation.
Ability to work well with a team as well as independently, when necessary.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and go up and downs stairs/ramps.
Must be able to lift 50 pound bags of flour regularly.
Flexible with schedule during busy events- Mother's Day, Pride Weekend, Holidays, etc.
The planned schedule: 5 days a week, with shifts that are 7am to 3pm Tuesday-Saturday.
