Summary/Objective
The Quality Metrology Supervisor is responsible for managing the day to day operation of all CMM equipment as well as gage calibration to ensure that the quality of manufactured products meets customer standards. This includes but is not limited to supervising any Team Leads, Engineers, Techs, Operators and any other associates assigned to his/her team. His/her focus will be in maintaining the Quality systems and ensuring the processes meet all customer requirements.
Essential Functions
- Follows established safety rules and regulations.
- Coordinates all actions and activities to improve the quality management system and monitors implementation, with an ultimate goal of improving "zero defects"
- Provides support to necessary manufacturing operations.
- Identifies quality issues and drives corrective actions to resolve them.
- Collaborates with other QA staff to implement root cause analysis.
- Ensures data analysis and reports are created on time for all parts.
- Collects and analyzes SPC data to identify potential quality issues.
- Conducts internal training for quality.
- Communicates customer requirements across the organization.
- Oversees all aspects of dimensional analysis to ensure accurate reporting of data.
- Schedules all members of his/her team to ensure that production has the necessary support.
- Supports special projects with various departments using the CMM
- Make revisions to CMM Programs to Engineering Changes
- Create CMM programs to Customer standards and tolerances
- Leads and mentors team members.
- Verifies and validates countermeasures and process adjustments.
- Conducts daily meetings.
- Follows all guidelines set forth in our 5S training.
- Other duties and responsibilities can be assigned based on company needs and skills level.
Competencies
- Computer Literate
- English language skills (written and spoken)
- German language skills (written and spoken) preferred but not required

- Automotive Quality standard (ISO/IATF 16949) knowledge and experience
- APQP knowledge and experience
- Experience in inspection of equipment and techniques
- Setup and run CMM using Metrologic X4 Software
Supervisory Responsibility
The Quality Metrology Supervisor will be responsible for supervising any and all associates that work under him/her according to the Quality Organizational Diagram. Attendance scheduling, monitoring, training, and disciplining will be part of his/her responsibilities. He/she will also be responsible of supervising all team activities such as providing leadership and support for special projects with various departments using the CMM, making revisions to CMM Programs to Engineering Changes and creating CMM programs to Customer standards and tolerances.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In order to meet our customer’s demands this role may be required to perform work outside of business hours including weekends.
Travel
Occasional domestic and international travel. Local (200 mile radius) travel mandatory when needed or requested by manager.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of prior Metrology lab supervision experience
- Microsoft Office proficiency required
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science/Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of two years of prior supervisory/managerial experience
- Minimum of five years of prior Quality experience in the Automotive Manufacturing industry preferred
- Metrologic X4 experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Strong Leadership skills. Must show flexibility and ability to work in an automotive industry pace environment. Coaching and training skills are necessary. Ability to conduct meetings with medium to large groups (20+) and public speaking skills are necessary.
