Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician with ER experience to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians with examinations and procedures, performing laboratory tests, administering medications, and providing compassionate care to animals and their owners.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal analysis
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and monitor their anesthesia during procedures
- Take and develop X-rays
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of patients
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Clean and sterilize equipment and maintain a clean work environment
Requirements:
- Certified Veterinary Technician or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience in a n Emergency, Critical Care or hospital setting is highly desirable
- Proficient in animal handling and restraint techniques
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
