This Laser Operator will be based at the Cleves location. The hours are Monday – Friday from 5:00am-3:00pm.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the manufacture metal products using machines that employ lasers and computerized equipment to cut and punch materials using laser machines that make metal shapes and holes.
Job Duties
- Follow production schedule and achieve productivity and efficiency goals
- Preventive maintenance on machine (basic troubleshooting of machine issues)
- Maintain accurate inventory (raw material and drop material)
- Crosstrain into other areas to fill day hours as necessary
- Perform standard laser cutting and welding operations.
- Select proper cutting and welding programs, and proper fixtures.
- Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point.
- Make proper set-ups for cutting and welding operations.
- Perform prescribed maintenance as required.
- Perform all dimensional inspections.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- May work at different workstations as production needs required
- Produce quality parts using the Brake Press machine (Verifying parts: dimensions, angles, material gauge and type)
- Produce quality parts using CNC machining (Verifying parts: dimensions, angles, material gauge and type)
- Produce quality parts using the Saw (Verifying parts: dimensions, angles, material gauge and type)
- Maintain a clean and orderly department (garbage/scrap removal, sweeping, wiping down machines)
- Operator Preventive Maintenance on machines as needed
- Bend, form, stretch, notch, punch and/or straighten metal to meet job requirements and quality on part.
- Sets stops on machine bed, change dies, and adjust components as needed.
- Plan sequence of operations to achieve desired result.
- Measure workpieces and inspect workpiece for defects.
- Maintains reliable and regular attendance.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in manufacturing / production or similar environment preferred
- Maintains reliable and regular attendance
- Ability to work 1st Shift: Monday-Thursday 5:00am-3:30pm
- Ability to remain alert and attentive during work-shift.
