Regional Finance Manager
The New Mexico Finance Authority (NMFA) in Santa Fe is seeking qualified individuals for a Regional Finance Manager position that will report to the Managing Director, Lending. This position will represent NMFA within assigned communities in the state and will originate, structure, underwrite and close loans and grants sought by local governments within their regions.
The Regional Finance Manager will also work with economic development organizations and local banks to assist businesses with loan structure and underwriting to help them achieve their projects. This position requires extensive travel to meet with clients on an ongoing basis to develop leads and provide outreach to new clients. The Regional Finance Manager must have the ability to exercise good judgment when deciding which programs are right for the clients and the NMFA. The Regional Finance Manager will work with NMFA’s credit analysts to verify the information provided on applications is correct or to obtain more information if data is missing prior to finalizing financial summaries and recommendations.
NMFA is a government instrumentality whose mission is to advance New Mexico by financing impactful, well-planned projects. The ideal candidate will possess experience in fund accounting, investment banking, finance, commercial finance, budget management or a similar field; excellent technical report writing, verbal and written communication skills; a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or a related field and at least five years of relevant experience. This position requires strong presentation skills as various recommendations are regularly presented to committees and Boards of Directors. The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional analytical skills and the ability to communicate the results to a variety of audiences. Ability to balance multiple projects, analyze large quantities of data, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment are required. An understanding of New Mexico local government financial management methods and procedures as well as the ability to form positive working relationships with local businesses are highly desirable.
