The Health & Wellness Director (HWD) RN / LPN oversees the delivery of care to residents and ensures that all care demonstrates the We Care values and complies with state, federal, and corporate guidelines. The HWD manages the LPNs, Medication Technicians, and Resident Assistants. The HWD works closely with the Executive Director and Community Relations/Sales team to generate positive census outcomes each month. Remains active in the sales and resident retention processes.
Management of Staff
- Manage the Health & Wellness staff, which includes interviewing, hiring, employee training and development, performance management and policy and procedure development and compliance.
Ensure that staff is delivering superior personalized care to residents and demonstrating the We Care values and the Sage Associate Promise.
Resident Care – Assessments, Coordination, and Communication
- Ensure that the appropriate level of care is being delivered to residents through regular assessments, and communicate routinely with residents, resident RPs/POAs, and the Daylesford leadership team regarding resident care needs.
- Oversee the care coordination and communication with all third party providers.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Responsible for all medication activities and the pharmacy relationship, ensuring that all medication administration complies with corporate and state standards.
- Responsible for the development of, and compliance with, resident safety and confidentiality standards according to HIPAA guidelines.
- Ensure that the Health & Wellness department is in compliance with all federal and state regulations.
Strategic Management
- Develop strategic alliances with appropriate third party providers (i.e. home health, rehab, hospice) in order to extend the services available to residents.
Financial Management
- Prepare annual department budget and manage departmental performance to the budget.
Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure that all documentation protocols for daily care, emergency care, monthly reports, charting, and medication management are being followed. Optimize utilization of electronic health record (EHR) system and life safety system technology and utilize reporting systems to monitor resident care and staff performance.
