Position Summary
The Construction Superintendent II works collaboratively with the Project Management team to manage all onsite construction activities to achieve timely and profitable completion and reports directly to the Business Unit Leader. The Construction Superintendent II supervises foreman, all TRICO craft workers, and is responsible for ensuring the safety of all staff while maintaining TRICO’s standards and commitments to the client.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with the Project Manager to develop a project-specific safety plan and take a direct and personal role in ensuring the work's safe performance.
- Develop and maintain project logistics plan, schedules, and productivity tracking in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Organize and coordinate the daily activities of all crew members, subcontractors, equipment, and trucking to keep projects on schedule.
- Build positive relationships with internal and external clients, including clients, owners, architects, engineers, and other related project partners through effective communication, positivity, and collaboration.
- Keep a daily diary for each project to document field conditions, trade and subcontractor workforce, progress, and other factors impacting the project, as well as accident reports, quality reports, etc.
- Ensure timely notification to Project team and client of changed conditions. Collaborate with field supervisors to identify needs, provide solutions when challenges are faced, and communicate these to project teams.
- Provide technical assistance and interpretation of drawings and recommend construction methods and equipment uses as required.
- Inspect contractor or sub-contractor operations to ensure compliance with contract.
- Review and approve subcontractor supplies payment applications with Project Manager.
- Regularly analyze budgets and adjust schedules to yield maximum efficiency. Ensure timely and accurate communication of labor and equipment requirements to Operations.
- Provide training, education, and support to all TRICO Craft employees. Regularly evaluate crew capability to ensure they meet required levels of quality through proactive performance management.
- Set team goals and conduct performance reviews for Craft team members in collaboration with TRICO’s Chief Operating Officer. Provide feedback on Project Manager performance reviews.
- Address safety concerns and ensure adherence to TRICO’s safety protocols.
- Lead subcontractor meetings and work with Project Team and Foreman to assess competency and capability of subcontractors.
- Assist project team with the finalization of punch lists, investigate and resolve problems during the guarantee period, and other items periodically required to service the client.
- Attend and participate in pre-construction, weekly project, business, safety meetings and team building and community events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10 or more years managing fast paced commercial construction projects.
- Two years of experience creating and maintaining schedules using Microsoft Project.
- Two years of experience working with Bluebeam.
- Two years of experience working on Design Build/Assist Projects.
- Experience & certifications in First Aid/CPR with AED, and OSHA 30.
Or
- An equivalent combination of experience and education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of managing commercial construction projects as a Commercial Superintendent and overseeing self-perform concrete or pre-engineered metal buildings.
- Experience working with ComputerEase and ProCore.
- Contract administration and insurance knowledge.
Compensation
The salary range for the Superintendent position is $129,000 to 143,000, depending on experience and qualifications with per diem for travel.
Vehicle and Equipment
This position is eligible for a company vehicle, gas credit card, and mobile workstation.
