Job Overview:
We are seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, or Certified Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team. The employee will assist an ophthalmologist in providing eye care services to patients at Magnolia Eye Center. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, exceptional patient care skills, and a commitment to a high level of customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct preliminary patient screenings
- Assist with diagnostic testing procedures
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary equipment
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Provide support during eye exams and minor surgical procedures
- Educate patients on eye care procedures and treatments
- Handle medical billing and coding tasks
- Answering the telephone and scheduling patient appointments
- Provide customer service to our patients during their visits
Skills:
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in ophthalmology
- Knowledge of medical billing processes
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
- Strong grasp of medical terminology and coding
- Ability to manage medical records accurately
- Anatomy knowledge for eye-related conditions
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
