This position will provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and family about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and family members.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Conduct physical exams to assess patient health needs and problems.
· Administer direct care to patients.
· Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms
· Administer patients’ medicines and treatments
· Set up plans for patients’ care or contribute to existing plans
· Observe patients and record the observations
· Consult and collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals
· Operate and monitor medical equipment
· Help perform diagnostic tests and analyze the results
· Must be responsible and detail oriented to make sure that patients get the correct treatments and medicines at the right time.
· Teach patients and their families how to manage illnesses or injuries
· Educate patients about their medical conditions and treatment plans.
· Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.
· Explain what to do at home after treatment
· Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· HighSchool diploma or equivalent
· Florida License required
· 2+ years’ experience in a medical setting with formal medical training.
· Coding education helpful
· Knowledge of Athena, CPT and ICD 10 codes
· Excellent oral, written and organizations skills with the ability to be flexible and deal effectively with staff, physicians and patients.
