Dairyfood USA, Inc., a market leader in specialty cheese production for over 65 years, is currently seeking a is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist. This position contributes to organizational success by providing direction and support to the Quality Assurance department by documenting Dairyfood USA's food quality and safety standards, verifying programs, creating program forms, auditing all procedures and any other Quality and Food Safety Control functions as needed. Based in our production facility in the heart of America’s Dairyland, Blue Mounds, WI, this position reports to the Product Quality Manager.
This position is primarily second shift (8 hours), to include a flexible start time between 12:00 pm and 2:30 pm. Includes a $2.00/hr shift premium.
Primary Job Functions:
- Verify HACCP records daily to include blend/cook sheets for CCP ingredient additions, cook and fill temperature recording charts, manual fill temperature records and Chem Lab moisture/fat/pH/salt results.
- Verify PC records daily including shipping/receiving logs, line and receiving Allergen label verifications, GMP inspections and smoker chip water addition.
- Review daily QA production line check sheets. Ensure program compliance, trend any corrections made during checks.
- Address daily GMP inspection findings with management for corrective action.
- Audit existing programs, such as HACCP, SSOP, Allergen and GMP’s to ensure that programs and forms are completed per programs.
- Notify QA Manager of unresolved compliance issues and situations involving potential food safety hazard, exposure or any other regulatory issues.
- Facilitate the fulfillment of all regulatory requirements.
- Work with Managers to resolve any compliance related issues.
- Provide any training on new/changes to regulations from any regulatory agency as needed.
- Audit Quality Control department procedures as needed.
- Create Quality Control forms as needed.
- Audit and make required changes to Quality Control and Food Safety Receiving procedures and manual.
- Audit production procedures for compliance.
- Assist in overseeing and review annually SQF System
- Serve as a registered SQF practitioner and function as back-up to the Quality Assurance Manager for SQF.
- Provide back-up functions for auditing and lab testing as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- An Associate’s degree in Dairy Science, Food Science, Microbiology or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a QA environment in the food industry
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in food production and processing, quality assurance and regulatory compliance
- SQF Practitioner certification, or the expectation to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
- PCQI certification preferred
