Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading supplier of building envelope solutions that effectively drive energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are looking for a EHS/COS to fill this position located in Kimberton, PA.
This position will manage lean manufacturing efforts (COS), safety programs and plant compliance requirements. The individual will work closely with plant management and will lead site safety and site COS programs maintenance and upkeep and will interface with Federal/state/local government agencies as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate COS (Lean Manufacturing) programs and initiatives such as: Managing Daily Improvement (MDI), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Operational Excellence, and 5S.
- Conduct COS audits and maintain status indicators and achievement level submittals.
- Audit SQDC board use and training.
- Development and execution of COS training for new hires.
- Lead Kaizen and process improvement events and follow-up audits to ensure sustainment and completion of parking lot items.
- COS Framework process
- Partner with site management team to identify, scope and coordinate process improvement events.
- Coordinate plant safety programs and initiatives.
- Serve as primary advisor for site safety compliance.
- Conduct site's new employee and temporary worker safety on-boarding training.
- Conduct timely accident/incident investigations and ensure timely reporting to plant management and corporate headquarters.
- Maintain OSHA 300 logs and compliance records of safety and health programs.
- Schedule, lead, and be actively involved in safety committee meetings.
- Ensure that all safety corrective actions are met.
- Conduct annual review of safety manuals and update.
- Maintain HAZCOM requirements and SDS's.
- Ensure that JSAs and LOTO procedures are completed for all processes, materials, and equipment before use.
- Keep records of all employee training, corrections of unsafe conditions, and dates and results of workplace inspections.
- Submit necessary documentation to the corporate office for recordkeeping including Safety Committee minutes, inspection reports, forklift inspection checklists, accident investigation reports, and near miss reports.
- Ensure contractor safety compliance.
- OSHA Process Safety Management oversight and training (if applicable).
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with computers and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills required
- Prior experience interacting with coworkers at all levels from shop floor to Plant Managers
- Ability to act in a self-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment
- Strong follow-up skills and ability to follow through with high energy
- Comfortable with presenting effectively in front of small and large groups
- Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems
- Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations
- Strong computer skills
Working Conditions:
This position conducts their work in an office environment and on the manufacturing floor, depending on facility needs and work being conducted. The typical shift is Monday through Friday with some variation including the occasional off shift and potential weekend support. Travel will be required on occasions, with adequate advanced notice.
Requirements:
- Education – high school diploma or equivalent required
- Two-year college or technical school preferred
- 3 or more years' experience in Safety position desired
- 3 or more years' Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing experience desired
- OSHA certification preferred
