SUMMARY/OVERVIEW
This position is directly responsible for overseeing the operations of a construction site, from planning to completion. The Site Superintendent is responsible for daily scheduling, supervising all activities and tasks, and ensuring the safety and compliance of the site. Site superintendents oversee the construction process and are responsible for overall construction activities within the established design, budget, and scheduling guidelines.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise all work on job site.
- Inspect all work to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure all work done follows and meets drawings and specifications.
- Maintain healthy relationships with our internal and external clients, including representatives of the VA Hospitals.
- Maintain site logistics plan, in coordination with Project Managers.
- Conduct quality safety inspections.
- Act as safety lead while on jobsite.
- Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts.
- Prepare and submit Daily Reports.
- Prepare and submit Inspection Reports.
- Attend and participate in all project meetings, including subcontractor meetings.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor s degree in engineering field required.
- OSHA 30-hour certification.
- Minimum ten (3) years experience in a supervisory role in commercial construction.
- Ten (5) years of industry experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Familiar with Pro-core or other types of construction software programs, desirable.
- Experience working with the Veterans Affairs Hospitals, or on Government Projects is a plus.
- Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification preferred.
- Prior military experience preferred.
- Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications.

Work is medium to heavy demand. Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires good visual acuity and hearing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times.
