Position Overview
The role of the Grant Manager is to manage all grant research, grant applications and post award grant reporting. The position will be the company spokesperson when interfacing with all grantors, including federal, state, and local government agencies, foundations, and other funding partners. The Grant Manager will interface closely with the PANGAEA team to identify projects requiring grant funding, applying for grants, and tracking project results after implementation.
The Grant Manager will be an independent contractor (consultant) position and will average 10 – 20 hours per week depending on the status of the grant projects. Approximately 50% of the hours worked will be on site in Columbus, NC. The other time can be worked from a remote location.
Essential Functions
Grant Management
Manages the grant funding process, including identification, application, administration and compliance.
- Researches various types of grants available and the criteria to qualify for each.
- Designs and recommends grant application strategies to executive leadership.
- Compiles necessary information for the grant application process through collaboration with internal/external contacts, database research, and other factfinding actions and meetings.
- Prepares grant applications, making sure that applications focus on the conditions, restrictions, and goals of the sponsoring organization.
- Develops and maintains master files on grants and paperwork connected to programs funded by grants.
- Monitors financial administration and compliance aspects of grants to ensure that proper documentation and reports are submitted for expenditures and that requests for funds are made within time limitations specified.
- Coordinates evaluation of programs and projects related to grant awards.
Project Management
- Lead teams to successfully identify projects that fit with grant funding objectives.
- Establish project plans and facilitate team meetings to analyze, implement and track grants.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements
- Minimum of five years of project management and/or grant management experience.
- Bachelors or Associates Degree required, Business Administration or related area preferred.
- Project management experience with skills in managing team dynamics and communication, prioritization and delegation of tasks, management of project schedules to meet deadlines, and gathering/organization of information from a variety of sources.
- Highly engaged interpersonal and customer service skills and an excellent communicator (verbal and written).
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies related to grant funding.
- Ability to comfortably interact with team members at all levels of an organization as well as with community and government.
- Ability to create and present ideas in an engaging manner across a variety of formats digitally and orally, including public speeches and board presentations.
- Ability to maintain confidential records and exercise discretion in the handling of company information.
