Sound Devices is looking for an enthusiastic Technical Support member to join our team. The ideal candidate will enjoy problem solving, speaking with customers, and working with high-end audio and RF equipment used in television, movie, and event productions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide product support to our customers via telephone and email.
- Monitor forums and social media platforms, offering guidance when needed. Occasional after-hours/weekend Facebook monitoring is required.
- Troubleshoot audio, video, and wireless systems to identify faulty equipment or improper system configurations.
- Issue RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorization) for equipment to be serviced.
- Verify hardware and software faults.
- Log and report firmware bugs to our internal QA (Quality Assurance) team.
- Advise customers with pre-sale questions about our products.
- Document field reports and identify trends.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education
- 3-5 years of field recording experience using audio mixers, field recorders, and wireless RF transmitter/receiver equipment.
- 2-year associate degree in Audio Recording or a related field.
- Familiarity with Microsoft OS, Apple OS, Apple iOS, Android OS, and related programs.
Experience with digital audio and video editing applications is a plus.
- Experience with Dante by Audinate.
- Knowledge of 32-bit audio recording workflow.
- Experience with sound mixing is a plus.
- Basic understanding of local area networks (LANs).
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
