The Opportunity
CEC is seeking a Project Manager Level Environmental or Civil Engineer Solid Waste Consultant for our Richmond, VA Office. The selected candidate will help manage and lead projects in the solid waste sector involving landfill gas system design; permitting and compliance; operations, maintenance, and monitoring; renewable natural gas; solid waste and gas system construction; and construction quality assurance. Periodic travel is required based on project demands.
Responsibilities
- Managing large solid waste projects in the Mid-Atlantic
- Managing, mentoring and supervising project teams
- Develop and prepare proposals, schedules, and budgets
- Understand and implement local, state and federal rules and regulations throughout all project work
- Develop and maintain client relationship
- Coordinate tasks and scheduling effectively
- Coordinate with vendors and sub-consultants
- Preparing design plans and specifications, reports, data analysis, and compliance tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering (PE registration preferred)
- 4-10 years of experience specific to landfills and/or solid waste industry
- Experience in the practice of engineering design
- Experience in any of the following areas of practice; design and construction quality assurance for solid waste containment and/or landfill gas collection systems
- Preparing permitting documents for solid waste facilities, landfill gas compliance and management, preparing fill sequence and master plans for solid waste facilities (experience in more than one area preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Solid Works software
- Ability to work both independently and within groups
- Excellent work history with leadership abilities and a positive attitude
- Candidate must interact well with the public and clients and have excellent teamwork skills
