Are you passionate about making a difference in the community through literacy? Literacy Achieves in Dallas, TX, is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. You will play a crucial role in connecting volunteers with opportunities to teach adults in our adult education program. As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will have the rewarding task of recruiting, onboarding, and stewarding over 200 volunteers/year. Compensation:
$17 - $18 hourly
Responsibilities:-
Engage with community, colleges, faith partners, businesses, and the LA board to attract and obtain new volunteers to serve adult programs and to have enough volunteers each semester.

Regularly update all volunteer opportunity listings.

Serve as the initial point of contact for all prospective volunteers.

Manage communication with all prospective volunteers from first inquiry through placement.

Provide engaging and effective volunteer orientations and provide respectful and timely hand-off to the program team.

Ensure standardized volunteer materials, including but not limited to orientation materials and recruitment fliers, are accurate and timely.

Develop and create engaging communication with volunteers (i.e. appreciation emails, thank you notes) to attract and retain volunteers.

Develop and implement an engaging volunteer stewardship plan that includes conducting a volunteer Kick-Off before the Fall and Spring semesters.

Represent the organization at community and corporate events and coordinate group volunteers.

Collect and manage all volunteer demographic data ensuring accurate and timely input into the agency database. Ensure the development team has accurate and updated records regarding active volunteers.

Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.

Reliable transportation is also required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
