The SC Department of Mental Health is seeking a skilled Building and Grounds Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for groundskeeping tasks and maintenance for five (5) clinics (to include Beaufort, SC and the surrounding areas).
Duties:
- Performs routine and emergency maintenance at all locations including facilities, grounds, & outside contractor work oversight
- Performs grounds maintenance, landscaping, and improvements.
- Assists moving furniture, equipment and supplies within and between all facilities and storage units.
- Inspects and maintains all equipment to insure all is sound and in safe operating order
- Inspects fire extinguishers, exit signs, and emergency lights monthly at all facilities
- Oversees outside contract work
Requirements:
-A high school diploma and four (4) years experience in a related trades area or general building maintenance
