The mission of this role is to create teaching materials for and support the Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade teachers in our memberships. Your goal will be to work toward a 98% member retention rate!
You’re eligible to apply for this position IF you:
- Have at least 3 years of teaching experience in Kindergarten, 1st, and/or 2nd grade (prefer experience in both Kindergarten 1st/2nd grade)
- Have previous experience in leadership roles, or in leading projects/initiatives at work
- Are able to work from home, remotely, with little to no interruption (you will need consistent access to high-speed internet with video chatting capabilities)
Here are some of the tasks you’ll complete as our Literacy & Math Teacher Membership Specialist:
- Create printable literacy center activities for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade
- Create small group lesson plans for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade
- Answer members’ questions (primarily via our online Community forum)
- Attend and actively participate in once-per-month live Q&A sessions with members on Zoom (these are typically held from 5pm - 6pm Central time)
- Communicate information and announcements clearly to members via emails and forum posts
- Consistently seek out feedback from members (e.g. by talking with them or designing surveys), and make suggestions/recommendations about how to improve the memberships and materials to better serve our members
- Oversee special Literacy Club virtual events (e.g. summer book club)
- Continue growing your professional educator knowledge
You’ll be a great fit for this position if you:
- Have had training in the Science of Reading
- Have strong written communication abilities and grammar skills
- Have strong attention to detail, but can also think “big picture”
- Can carefully review your own work and correct mistakes
- Have excellent “people skills” and the ability to relate to teachers (empathetic)
- Have strong verbal communication skills
- Feel comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Are comfortable taking initiative and responsibility, working to meet goals
- Like being creative at times, and coming up with new ideas or learning activities
- Want to help make teachers’ jobs easier!
Position details:
- Full-time, salaried position (100% remote, no travel)
- Salary starts at $55,000 and depends on experience
- A health insurance stipend is available after 60 days of employment (health insurance through our company is not currently available)
- A retirement plan with contribution matching is available within 30 days of employment
- Monday through Thursday, working hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm; on Friday, hours are 8:00am - 4:00pm (Central U.S. time)
- You will receive paid training and ongoing professional development
- A Mac laptop computer will be provided to you, as well as a yearly stipend for purchasing home office equipment
- You’ll receive sick days and vacation days
