One of Austin's Premier Granite Company, Alpha Granite serves over a 100 mile radius fabricating and installing beautifully crafted kitchen and bath room countertops is seeking an experienced Production CNC Machinist Operator for their Austin, TX location.
CNC Machinist Operator would perform the following duties:
- Verifies that work order packets received into the Machine Shop are complete and include the following: work order, material or material numbers, and prints. Interprets part drawings to determine required activities.
- Locates material for job and/or verify material type, size and quantity.
- Performs Equipment Maintenance Checklist in order to verify that machines will operate in accordance with requirements to make the parts.
- Verifies that parts meet specs and standards.
- Reviews and signs off router steps; performs document review.
- Performs tool calibration steps periodically and identifies worn out diamond router bits.
- Is able to communicate with CNC machine manufacturer to trouble shoot when necessary.
- Assists supervisor or leadsperson to develop and document work instructions.
- Stops equipment and de-energizes to a safe condition.
- Reports breakdowns to supervisors or maintenance.
- Sweeps and/or mop floors, cleans up spills, and removes trash as necessary to keep the immediate work area safe and clean at all times.
- Cleans and/or wipes work and machine surfaces. (Other duties may be assigned.)
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Formal technical training such as trade school preferred, not required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the set-up and operation of CNC Mill and/or CNC Grinding machines.
- Experience in the manufacturing of devices in a regulated industry preferred.
- Requires specialized computer skills related to CNC (“computer numerical controls”) machine tools.
- Requires proficiency in machine tool language in order to set up and suggest minor modifications to programs and tool instructions.
- Ability to use inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, comparators) and other common inspection equipment.
- Ability to read prints.
