The Site Specialist will serve as the initial point of contact for EHR technical support requests received by phone, e-mail or other methods. They will provide quality support for employees with a high degree of customer satisfaction. The Site Specialist will work with our partner organizations’ Help Desk to resolve issues and will provide assistance concerning the use of Epic applications. This position will participate in the preparation for and implementation of new software applications and upgrades. This is an on-site position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance and training to employees with a high degree of customer satisfaction in a timely manner.
- Answer users’ inquiries regarding computer software operation to resolve problems.
- Test implementation of new software, upgrades, and fixes to verify correct operations and detect errors.
- Submit and track to resolution Epic issues using the JIRA reporting system.
- Identify and troubleshoot application issues as they occur, owning the problem and seeing it through to full resolution. Issues that require additional assistance will be escalated to the application software vendor.
- Update and manage service area files.
- Work with OCHIN and advisory workgroups to optimize use of the system through implementation of new features and upgrades.
- Attend monthly OCHIN meetings with peers for best practices and information sharing.
- Provide assistance as requested to the information technology team.
- Perform IT lower level IT functions.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem solve issues to resolution.
- Working knowledge of an electronic health records system required. Epic preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft OS and Office applications.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, non-verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions based on health center's policies and protocols.
- High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
- Commitment to and alignment with the health center's mission, vision, and values.
Education and Experience required: The mission of this clinic is to improve the quality of life for all people in the community, particularly the medically underserved and vulnerable, by providing access to high quality primary and preventative health care.
- 2-year degree in a computer or health industry related field or 3 years of computer/ software support experience.
