BTE, Batterson Truck Equipment, is seeking a dedicated Shop Foreman to join our facility in Houston. We are a growing company modernizing and scaling our production processes to match increased demand for our products.
The ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the manufacturing and installation of high-quality products serving the truck outfitting industry alongside our production team. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of production processes, product flow analysis, and the ability to swiftly address production disruptions. A commitment to quality, on time delivery, cost management, and an eagerness to embrace and apply Lean Manufacturing principles while prioritizing safety are essential.
Responsibilities:
· Execute production plans by scheduling, setting job expectations, and assigning tasks to personnel.
· Ensure work results by establishing priorities, monitoring progress, and solving production process issues.
· Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, training, and developing personal growth opportunities.
· Oversee workflow, set processing variables, monitor control points and equipment, and facilitate corrections to malfunctions.
· Ensure on-time production and delivery of customer orders.
· Manage production orders and coordination between sales and purchasing.
· Maintain effective communication with sales, customer service, and admin departments.
· Solve problems relating to product quality, order accuracy, workplace cleanliness, and product integrity.
Skills:
- Proficient in stick welding techniques for metal fabrication.
- Experience with hand tools and machinery for various shop tasks.
- Ability to fabricate components based on engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of machining processes for metalwork.
- Competent in operating cranes and forklifts safely.
- Understanding of industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Skill in using measuring tools like calipers and micrometers for precision work.
