SUMMARY:
To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional STEM program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. The STEM teacher will work with students in grades K-1, 2-3, or 4-5 in a dedicated STEM lab facilitating learning in a collaborative environment where students work in teams as they experience learning hands-on. The Science Teacher and Integrator reports to the Rambam Day School/TBAM Innovation and Technology Director and is a member of the Innovation Team.

The duties of an educator include creating learning environments that invite collaboration, and higher-order thinking and foster a love of learning. Faculty are also responsible for developing units of study and materials, engaging activities, and facilitating learners' discussions. They are also in charge of monitoring the learners' progress, evaluating learners' knowledge by providing a series of assessments, helping a learner to gain self-confidence, and encouraging the learners to reach their maximum potential. An educator should have excellent communication and adaptation skills, especially in adjusting to different learning methods and approaches that the students will need.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Develops mastery of Rambam Day School Curriculum Maps and Scope and Sequence.
● Writes and submits weekly lesson plans to Rambam Day School/TBAM Innovation and Technology Director.
● Plan and prepare lesson plans and instructional activities by identifying clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes, with appropriate challenges and high expectations.
● Facilitate instruction in a hands-on, collaborative STEM lab environment with lab reports, technology integration, and the scientific method with an emphasis on problem-solving.
● Differentiates instruction as needed (in content, process, product, and environment). ● Incorporates the following skills into their units of study: problem solving, creativity, inquiry skills, engineering-design thinking, critical thinking, science and math skills, and collaboration. ● Use relevant technology to support instruction.
● Encourage and monitor the progress of all students.
● Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress.
● Manage student behavior by establishing clear protocols and an optimum learning environment in and out of the classroom.
● Effectively communicate with parents and administration to maximize student growth. ● Participate in on-site professional development, school meetings, and extracurricular programs as required.
● Create an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
● Ensure that school policies are reflected in daily practice.
● Continue to grow professionally, specifically in the STEM field.
● Keep updated with current pedagogy and implement changes to instruction as needed. ● Plan science-related field trips.
● Cooperate with classroom teachers to integrate STEM instruction as needed.
Education and Experience:
● Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
● Professional Teacher Certification (preferable)
● Transcripts indicating minimum 12 semester hours in the field of science /STEM ● Relevant teaching experience
● Knowledge of relevant technology
● Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and as part of a high-performing team with exceptional initiative and judgment.
● Ability to adapt to rapidly shifting priorities in education

● Fulfills all duties and responsibilities including morning duties, AM and PM carpool, lunch coverage, etc.
