Job Overview:
McLaren & Associates CPAs, PC is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Internal Human Resources Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will assist in various Human Resources functions, manage sensitive employee information, and support the Director of Operations in maintaining a smooth and compliant Human Resources department.
Job Responsibilities:
Human Resources Documentation:
- Prepare necessary Human Resources-related forms for employees.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of required forms by employees.
Employee Lifecycle Management:
- Assist in the onboarding process of new employees.
- Handle off-boarding and asset recovery procedures for departing employees
Conflict Resolution:
- Facilitate resolution of internal team member conflicts as they arise.
Compliance and Legal:
- Stay updated on employment laws and regulations in Massachusetts.
- Consult with the Human Resources hotline for any questions or clarification needed by the firm.
Policy Development:
- Prepare and issue policies and procedures to the team.
Performance Management:
- Assist in preparing team member reviews.
Payroll and Time Management:
- Conduct weekly team member time sheet analysis.
- Prepare and submit firm payroll accurately and on time.
- Track Paid Time Off (PTO) for firm employees.
- Generate and distribute time sheet reports for partners.
Additional HR Duties:
- Perform other Human Resources-related tasks as needed.
Benefits Administration:
- Track health insurance and employee benefits to ensure all team members are up to date and informed about their coverage and team members are provided with necessary paperwork.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Preferably 1-2 years Human Resources experience.
- Strong understanding of Human Resources principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with running payroll. Preferably with RunADP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Human Resources software and tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of Massachusetts employment laws is preferred.
- Accountable in all tasks and duties.
Work Environment:
- This position requires accountability, attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- The role may involve occasional lifting of office supplies and equipment.
- Flexibility in working hours is needed to accommodate part-time status and operational needs.
