PATIENT CENTERED MISSION: We at Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center strive to put our patients at the center of our practice. Our patient care team is made of both clinical and non-clinical members and unites departments and services across the clinic to ensure that safe, effective, and efficient whole-person care is provided that is respectful and responsive to individual patient preferences, needs, and values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage patient flow in the Family Medicine clinical area
- Triage walk-in patients and phone calls.
- Assist providers in examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures as authorized.
- Provide optimal nursing care to patients according to nursing process.
- Provide POC service to patients when indicated.
- Administer medications as prescribed by providers per policy.
- Provide prescription follow up for the prior authorization process.
- Assist in maintaining optimal supplies in each clinic room.
- Monitor the efficiency of the clinical assessment tools and the IT support systems.
- Maintain professional support and positive interaction with all departments.
- Supervise MA’s and LPNs in the Family Medicine Clinic.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole most desirable
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, college, or university.
- Association Degree minimum with 1-2 years of acute care experience. BSN preferred.
- Un-impeded current license to practice in Massachusetts as a registered nurse.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Some supervisory skills and experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-point and EMR.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Occasional Saturday and weeknight coverage is an essential function of this position. Long hours are sometimes required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical demands requiring lifting of small pieces of equipment, boxes, and/or assisting with patient lifting, not to exceed 50 pounds. Mostly standing and walking required. Visual acuity sufficient for frequent reading. Hearing acuity sufficient for holding conversation with or without assistive audio devices
