Position: Maintenance Technician
Qualifications: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma preferred. Knowledge of basic cleaning, general maintenance and groundskeeping desired.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist in the preventive maintenance and upkeep of Brooklyn Community Housing and Services’ three buildings co-located at 105 Carlton Avenue, including:
1. Daily cleaning of all bathrooms, walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and communal spaces; including vacuuming, dusting, and mopping.
2. Performing periodical deep cleaning using agency approved sanitary products.
3. Installation of minor appliances and equipment.
4. Performing minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, and light plastering of gaps on walls.
5. Garbage removal, recycling, and disposal.
6. Stripping, waxing, and buffing of floors.
7. Organizing maintenance supplies and tools.
8. Performing routine groundskeeping—watering and tidying of flowerbeds, clearing of weeds, leaves, and trimming of shrubs in 105 Carlton’s outdoor areas and façade.
9. Clearing and removal of snow from all ground areas including the agency’s parking lot and agency cars.
10. Updating a daily cleaning chart indicating work completion.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.81 per hour
