Heart Care Centers of Illinois, a multi-site network of cardiovascular providers, currently has an opening for a Medical Billing/Coding Manager responsible for the direction and leadership of the coding and billing functions of our organization. Responsible for staff training, regulatory compliance and implementation of policies and procedures for the Billing and Coding department.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, direct and evaluate activities pertaining to the daily functions of the Billing and Coding Department.
- Maintain current, expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding systems as well as necessary certifications. Stay attuned to all third party payer requirements, managed care contract language and provider credentials. Maintain adherence to government regulations regarding compliance and professional services billing.
- Provide training, mentoring and feedback to billing/coding staff. Provide expert feedback, education and training to Physicians regarding coding, compliance and reimbursement processes in order to maintain best demonstrated practices.
- Establish departmental goals and objectives as well as production and quality standards for various department functions.
- Generate key performance indicators and measures against industry benchmarks to ensure optimal performance.
- Coordinate and maintain current electronic billing processes and systems in concert with the systems administrator.
- Determine staffing needs, skill requirements and certification for departmental positions. Implement continuous improvement programs consistent with rapidly changing regulatory protocols.
- Implement quality auditing system to verify all billing, coding activities are captured in a timely, efficient, comprehensive and consistent manner.
- Generate monthly reports to demonstrate achievement of key targets and performance indicators as well as compliance with regulatory requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS

- 5+ years increasingly progressive Coding and Billing supervisory/management experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
- IDX, Centricity, Availity experience preferred
