Education/Experience/Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Previous work experience or training as a custodian preferred.

Knowledge of the use and care of common maintenance and custodial tools, materials, and equipment.

Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to follow and understand directions.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working conditions with students, staff and the community.

Must possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License

Ability to perform duties in accordance with all District and State requirements and policies.
WORKING CONDITIONS
To perform this job, an employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, equipment or controls; to talk or hear. The employee frequently must reach with arms and hands. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee frequently is required to squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools and climb ladders. The employee frequently bends or twists at the neck and trunk more than the average person to perform job duties. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally may lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The employee sometimes pushes or pulls large objects such as bleachers, tables, desks and scrubbing machines.
