Acute Residential Counselor Adult - Safe Haven
Support adults who have intensive needs that live in Howard Center's homeless shelter. Safe Haven is a single-staffed, transitional housing program. This role ensures a safe, healthy, and functional environment while providing direct service to adult clients. This role also provides guidance and assistance in order to help clients meet their individual goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop healthy therapeutic relationships with adult residents
- Assist in increasing coping strategies & problem-solving skills
- Mediate conflicts and diffuse escalating situations
- Medication administration
Requirements:
- A combination of experience, skills and/or education working with adults that experience mental health challenges and/or substance use disorders
Structure:
- Full-time
- Two possible schedules: M 4:30pm-midnight, Tues & Wed 8am-3:30pm, Thurs & Fri 4:30pm-midnight OR Sun & Mon 4:30pm-midnight, Wed 8am-3:30pm, Thurs & Fri 4:30-midnight
- Union
- Non-exempt
- Starting at $21.66 an hour, plus shift differentials
