Job Title: Director of PFS
Job Responsibilities:
· Provide senior management services as the Director, Patient Financial Services for AHMG, at AHMG office, located in Bloomfield NJ.
· Manage and prioritize goals and objectives for the AHMG PFS Department.
· Establishing and maintain the appropriate lines of communication for various. departments at AHMG on behalf of the Patient Financial Services (“PFS”) Department.
· Overall management responsibility for PFS at AHMG, including understanding, establishing, implementing, and maintaining all of AHMG’s Policies & Procedures as amended from time to time and the objectives of Director of Revenue Cycle.
· Establishing and maintaining appropriate and necessary policies and procedures for revenue cycle management at AHMG that meet or exceed industry best practices.
· Establish key deliverables and deadlines necessary to effectively accomplish the tasks necessary for successful implementation of Customer Outsource Projects.
· Provide an assessment of AHMG’s key management and supervisory staff of the PFS Department.
· Provide an assessment of AHMG’s processes and procedures and identify areas where workflow can be more effectively worked, and account flow more efficiently prioritized.
· Provide an assessment of AHMG supplied technology and identify areas of improvement.
· Stay appraised of and remain informed with all the necessary Federal, State, and Local rules and regulations regarding revenue cycle management programs in the states where AHMG performs PFS Outsource work,
· Promote and insure that all team members that report to you adhere to all AHMG human resources policies and procedures (as amended from time to time),
· Take an active leadership role in AHMG with all other management personnel to insure a smooth and efficient working environment between departments and offices.
· Assist with the establishment of AHMG’s Key Performance Metrics (“KPI”s”) that are based on industry best practices and insure that all AHMG PFS staff are meeting or exceeding those KPI’s on a regular basis.
- Accounts Receivable Management:
- On a daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly basis, review the KPI Reports for:
- Highly visible issues and take all necessary corrective actions to correct any problems and improve the operational effectiveness of the Company,
- Review high-level assignments of AHMG PFS employees to insure efficiency and effectiveness,
- Identify and monitor issues in PFS Departments (including, but not limited to large account management, trends by service or account types, account aging reviews, cash posting, denials management, etc)
- Periodic audits of high-dollar and high-visibility accounts, or other focus areas
- Online review of accounts in detail,
- Action item output to the responsible parties, with time limitations for returned results
- Meet with VP, Revenue Cycle, EVP, and the Senior Leadership on a weekly/monthly basis to discuss AR performance (monthly business office performance reports, KPI Report) and other important indicators, where applicable,
- Timely review of the bad debt prelist to ensure that all accounts have been reasonably worked by AHMG staff prior to reclassification to Bad Debt.
- Revenue Cycle management
- Be the intermediary for all AHMG PFS communications & document retrieval for internal operations related to PFS:
- Meet regularly with revenue cycle team at AHMG to ensure AHMG financial success,
- Establish monthly cash collections baseline, derived from careful analysis of AHMG data,
- Establish monthly cash collections targets, based on condition of A/R, known payer issues (shortfalls as well as expected windfalls), staffing variances, weekly and monthly holiday schedules, etc.
- Establish acceptable targets for denials management and monitor effectiveness on a regular basis.
- PFS Management Skills:
- Be an active and positive face of AHMG,
- Provide insight, feedback, strategies and recommendations as necessary.
- Develop and manage master task list and related project management duties,
- Define and monitor the Responsibility Matrix for AHMG projects when necessary.
- Anticipate AHMG issues before they become issues and take corrective action and communicate such corrective action with Senior management staff at AHMG.
· Regularly meet with senior management team to review overall functioning of the operations.
· This engagement will require you to work at AHMG’s Business office, located in Bloomfield NJ. On occasion, you will be required to travel to AHMG’s Customer locations and other off-site locations.
· Understanding of external HIM systems such as EPIC, Cerner, Meditech, and others and updating information onto those HIM systems.
· Understanding of external 3rd Party billing software such as Change Health, SSI, and others and how to appropriately process claims through those systems.
· Understanding of Eligibility Requirements from 3rd Party Payers
· Understanding of Denial Management and Prevention Strategies.
· Recruitment skills PFS staff needed to effectively manage AHMG workforce.
· Understanding and ability to create staffing analysis to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
· Understanding of transaction posting (payments, adjustments, write-offs) and apportiate use of transactions.
· Min of 5 years’ experience as Director of PFS or in Revenue Cycle Outsourcing Programs with similar work requirements.
· Must be willing to meet with Customers (from time to time) either through Electronic means such as Zoom, Microsoft Team, or other virtual meeting technology.
· Any and all other duties and responsibilities as requested by Senior Leadership of AHMG.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
