SUMMARY
The Yoga Experience Specialist Team at Soul Yoga ensures a genuine connection is made with each student and guest through the ability to make quick decisions and think on the go. Being well trained and knowledgeable about classes and memberships will be equally important for the YES Team. The Team Lead helps support the team in these daily objectives and works with the leadership team to grow the direction of the studio.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE YES TEAM
- Arrive on time for each scheduled shift; clock in and out within designated hours.
- Clear communication with the entire Soul Yoga team including teachers, management, Energy Exchange Team, assistants, and members.
- Ensure each guest has an unforgettable in-studio experience.
- Greet each student by first name to make a connection and foster customer loyalty .
- Create a seamless check-in process for each student.
- Actively exude positive energy while engaging in conversations and completing tasks.
- Answer the phone in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage the cash register and cash handling procedures.
- Assist guests through their retail experience from start to finish as well as promoting studio events.
- Provide friendly and attentive service that makes guests feel well-taken care of and like they are a part of the Soul Yoga community.
- Opening, midday and closing duties are fulfilled and signed off on.
- Build the Soul Yoga community through completion of memberships tasks, including importing, calling, texting and emailing during each shift.
- Ensure that classrooms, locker rooms and lobby are kept clean and free of trash and debris at all times.
- Ability to prioritize workload in order to complete all shift responsibilities and set up the next shift for success.
- Lead the Energy Exchange team when guidance is needed in order to complete all shift duties.
- Understand that in absence of an Energy Exchange team member, the Yes Team is responsible for those duties.
- Commitment to a gossip free, integrity driven environment.
- Provide feedback to instructors and fellow team members in the format of keep, start, stop.
SPECIFIC YES TEAM LEAD DUTIES
Scheduling + YES Team
- Build and post the YES team schedule in Sling and stay under budget on hours by the 20th of every month.
- Work various shifts (Open, Mid and Close) at the front desk; leading by example.
- Willingness to cover last minute shift vacancies as it supports the needs of the front desk. (If you cannot cover, work together with Leadership to ensure the front desk/ clients are supported at all times).
- Be the point person for YES Team Staff if there are questions during a shift (i.e. the Chain of command is the YES Team will call the YES Team Lead 2X).
- If it's an emergency or studio operations emergency (power outage etc.)- calls will go straight to Leadership.
- Support the YES Team in problem solving and clear communication as it supports the team.
- Use Sling as the primary platform of communication for YES Team.
- Educates the YES Team on studio happenings weekly including retail promotions and programming.
- Promote a positive attitude and environment around studio events and programs and decisions made by leadership.
- YES Team scheduling, recruiting and training.
- Organize Quarterly YES Team in person meetings and collaborate with G.M. in communicating with the team.
- Keep track of membership Sales and Retail Sales on a monthly basis for each YES Team Staff. Communicate, coach and support YES Team Staff in reaching their goals as it supports the students and community of Soul Yoga.
Energy Exchange:
- Onboard, train and manage the Energy Exchange team
Retail & Memberships
- Consistently update the retail boutique in the studio
- Support Leadership and team with inventory on the last day of the month
- Inventory retail products on the floor as needed to support a change log of zero
- Making daily phone calls for membership conversion and support
- Call failed autopays, card expiring and intro offer expiring clients in MindBody to ensure systems and accounts are kept up to date
Supplies:
- Check for and order supplies for office and studio weekly.
- Assist with food and beverage tracking and ordering as needed.
- Help maintain the organization and cleanliness of the studio as it supports the Soul Yoga clients, teachers and staff.
- Be professional, courteous and positive in your relations with all staff and students.
- Be objective in receiving and delivering feedback.
Other:
- Attend weekly scheduled meetings with studio leadership to review studio updates, retail, memberships etc. and monthly action plan meetings
- Provide a 2 weeks written notice to Leadership if you need to request 4+ days time off
- Please Note: time off is unpaid
- Conduct studio walkthroughs each shift to ensure cleanliness of studio
QUALIFICATIONS: SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to provide a superior retail experience while greeting and establishing rapport with the guests
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-volume, fast-paced, guest-centric environment
- Attention to detail and professionalism
- Ability to maintain a clean workspace
- Ability to maintain a clean and pleasant appearance and demeanor
- Energetic, friendly, and generally likable
- Excellent conversation skills and ability to professionally represent yourself in person, over the phone, and in writing
- Knowledge of health and wellness is a major plus
- Experience in retail is highly preferred
- Open availability for at least two weekends per month is a requirement

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
