Job Position: Project Engineer
Job Location: Stone Mountain, GA
Reports To: Director of Engineering
Job Summary: The Shared Services Support Center (SSSC) Project Engineer is responsible for execution of all aspects of various engineering projects including, but not limited to, front end feasibility analysis, equipment specification and design, equipment sourcing, process development, equipment installation and commissioning, and equipment turnover to operations after meeting project success criteria. The Corporate Project Engineer must work closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Commercial functions in the execution of projects. The SSSC Project Engineer will also serve as the project manager for assigned projects, overseeing scope, cost and schedule for assigned projects. The SSSC Project Engineer will understand, adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures pertaining to food safety.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of project scope for assigned projects, including equipment specifications, plant layout, manufacturing process flow, technology selection, equipment design and equipment sourcing.
- Lead the overall design for equipment necessary to deliver the project scope. This will be done through both in-house design, directing work of third-party Engineering firms, and/or collaborating with equipment OEMs.
- Lead the execution of Best Value Options Analysis when considering design options for a new project in order to evaluate new design, off-the-shelf and hybrid solutions for assigned projects.
- Lead project construction, installation and commissioning activities for assigned projects.
- Ensure that projects are completed within established goals for quality, timeliness, budget, profitability, safety and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as the engineering leader and technical expert for assigned technologies.
- Provide expert support to manufacturing plants for assigned technologies and projects. Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by plant engineering and manufacturing team members for areas within his/her expertise domain.
- Serve as the Engineering project manager for assigned projects, controlling cost, schedule and scope and being accountable to deliver committed project success criteria.
- Conduct various tests and quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects.
- Execute assigned research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new projects and improved processes.
- Communicate and collaborate with other Engineers, suppliers, and contractors. Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Collaborate and Coordinate: Demonstrates an ability to effectively collaborate and coordinate with other department personnel and internal support. This includes utilizing all WinCup resources at your disposal to effectively handle production issues and support.
- Communication: Must possess excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, business writing, grammar and verbal communication skills.
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills: Must be detail oriented, a team player and highly deadline driven.
Job Requirements:
- 30% travel to existing plant locations within the United States
- Must be able to work on-site in Stone Mountain, GA.
- Must be able to navigate a manufacturing environment where PPE is required and where temperatures may fall outside of comfortable ranges
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years' engineering experience in production manufacturing industry.
- Experience in foam, plastics, food and / or beverage manufacturing industry preferred.
- Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems.
- Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects on track.
- Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
- Ability to distill complicated topics into simpler components.
- Ability to work independently, managing tasks and priorities efficiently without constant supervision.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, as well as external vendors and consultants, to achieve project goals and deliverables.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Must have proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, 3D modeling and Auto CAD
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Experience programming and interfacing with PLCs a plus
- This position requires up to 30% travel.
