High school diploma or GED; three years of increasingly responsible experience in administrative support work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Working knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment; of business English, spelling, punctuation, and grammar; of principles and procedures of records management. Ability to perform a full range of varied and responsible office administrative, secretarial, and routine programmatic support functions in support of assigned programs, division, and/or department with only occasional instruction or assistance; to interpret, apply and explain administrative and departmental policies; to exercise good judgment in making routine decisions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures; to perform arithmetic calculations; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Familiarity with engineering, construction or related fields preferred. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Provides general administrative support to the Utilities Operations and Maintenance Technical Support section. Creates purchase orders and interdepartmental transfer forms. Orders office supplies and materials. Assists engineers with processing and receiving invoices. Assists with electronic filing of project related documents. Serves as secretary at meetings and committees as assigned, preparing and distributing agenda packets and correspondence, taking and distributing minutes. Assists with mailings for project related communication. Assists with formatting and edits for PowerPoint presentations, printing and copying. Assists Safety Officer with tracking required training for staff. Perform other work as required.
