Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the production and operational activities at our steel and aluminum hitch manufacturing facility. As a pivotal member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, maintaining high quality standards, and fostering a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring smooth production processes and adherence to production schedules.
- Implement and enforce production and safety standards, procedures, and protocols to maintain high levels of efficiency and safety.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of production supervisors, technicians, and operators to achieve production targets and quality goals.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support professional development initiatives for direct reports.
- Quality Control and Assurance:
- Monitor product quality throughout all stages of production, implementing corrective actions as necessary to uphold quality standards and customer expectations.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance teams to implement and maintain effective quality control measures and processes.
- Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee inventory management to ensure optimal levels of raw materials and finished goods, minimizing waste and ensuring timely production cycles.
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to manage supplier relationships and optimize supply chain efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction initiatives within the manufacturing process.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and regulations, conducting regular safety audits, and promoting safety awareness among all employees.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in operations management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal fabrication or similar industries.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a track record of implementing process improvements.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and manufacturing software.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
