They are seeking an experienced professional that is energetic, skilled in different cooking techniques, detail oriented and has managerial experience. The successful candidate must be a self-starter and motivated to learn from and cook under the direction of our award-winning Dining Service Director. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for oversight of the day-to-day operations of the kitchen and dining services, working under the direction of the Dining Director. He/She will ensure that all services and programs are following federal, state and/or local regulations, laws and statutes including sanitation/cleanliness. He/She will provide residents and staff with high quality nutritious meals using fresh ingredients and responsive service and meet their needs while meeting regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will provide a professional and positive image at all times through appearance, dress and attitude. He/She must be able to take direction and possess a team player attitude to motivate kitchen and dining staff. Candidate must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
Education/Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Culinary school degree or equivalent work experience desired
· Serve Safe Certified
· 2-year experience in hotel, country club or senior living
· Experience in recipe and menu development, food and beverage control and cost, inventory management, food handling/preparation/presentation
· Scheduling experience
· Basic computer knowledge and skills (Microsoft Office/Excel)
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time
· Must be able to routinely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
· Must be able to reach with hands and arms
· Ability to receive audible directions
· Ability to speak, read and understand the English language. Spanish is a plus.
