Early Educator Job Description
Mid Vermont Christian School (MVCS) seeks a dynamic Early Educator Teacher with demonstrated ability to integrate the Christian worldview into all that transpires in and out of the classroom. This person will work successfully with a range of students, be versed in research-based practices, able to deliver lessons that develop students’ theoretical and applied skills and seek to become part of our learning community. Depending on enrollment, classes could be multi-grade. Outstanding candidates will be motivational to encourage students to love the Lord and love to learn and place a high value on communication with parents as we seek to partner with parents as they raise their children.
PURPOSE: PREPARES STUDENTS FOR MEANINGFUL LIVES by contributing to their educational, social, and spiritual development. This will assist MVCS in fulfilling the mission of the school, which is to glorify God by preparing students for college and for life through a program of academic excellence established in Biblical truth
Teacher Qualifications
- Evidence of knowledge of content and pedagogy through experience and training
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Teacher State licensure or ACSI certification in areas of assignment preferred, or willingness to seek one or both of these.
- Able to pass background, fingerprinting, and child and adult protection registry check
- Understanding of the principles of child development, best practices and educational methods
- Spiritual, mature, born-again Christian who regularly attends a Bible- believing church.
- Called and committed to the ministry of MVCS. Affirms MVCS Statement of Faith and Responsibilities. Staff members here do not regard their responsibilities as just a job, but as a ministry. Each of us feels a high sense of commitment to the Lord and His calling on our lives to be here for these children and parents
Teacher Responsibilities
- Intentionally integrates Biblical values and morals
- Assesses students' spiritual needs to lead to them in spiritual growth
- Models a consistent relationship with Jesus Christ
- Instructional planning, preparation, delivery and assessment
- Maintain records to document attendance, grades and behavior
- Create a classroom environment that develops in each student skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing that are fundamental to effective communication and literate citizenship
- Create an environment of respect and rapport through reinforcement and praise
- Encourage students to accept God and the gift of salvation and grow in their faith, provide opportunities to lead in prayer, and develop a Christian mind and lifestyle
- Collaborate with other educators
- Comply with Federal, State and Local legal requirements
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge
- Contributes to spiritual growth of the program through example, instruction, personal and professional studies, and personal devotions and worship

Pay: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
