Position Title: Thrift Associate - Donations at Beverly Bootstraps Thrift Shop

Position Overview:
The Thrift Shop Associate - Donations will be responsible for assisting the Thrift Shop Management and Staff on the smooth operation of the shop. All Thrift Shop Associates are expected to provide exceptional customer and donor service and to have knowledge of the organization’s mission in order to be an effective ambassador of the organization..
The Thrift Shop Associate - Donations is part of the team that recruits and receives donations from the public. This is critical for the operations of the Thrift Shop.
The Thrift Shop Associate - Donations is part of the team that helps receive, sort, value , price, and prepare the donated items for sale on the sales floor. Priorities include keeping the sorting area safe, clean and organized; working with the team on consistent pricing; preparing and delivering product to the sales floor; managing recycling, trash, overstock and hangers.
The Thrift Shop Associate - Donations will be trained on the cash register and other tasks and may be asked to cover other areas of the store. The Thrift Shop Associate may be required to work alternate hours to a regularly scheduled shift and to cover special events.
The Thrift Shop Associate - Donations will be trained to assess, schedule, and assist with pickup, delivery, and staging of furniture donations. The employee will work with staff agency-wide as needed. The employee will adhere to the Beverly Bootstraps “community norms” and will work to further the mission of the agency.
Essential Functions:
● Provide exceptional donor and customer service
● Assist with donation acceptance
● Work with staff and volunteers to keep the shop clean and organized, both inside and out
● Keep processing areas clear and safe
● Confer with the Donation Leads and Coordinators on donation flow procedures and policies
● Work with volunteers and other staff to effectively support management
● Engage with customers and donors
● Attend Staff meeting as directed by Director of Thrift Operations or Executive Director
● Adhere to the Beverly Bootstraps Security Plan and Procedures.
● Must comply with all policies and procedures as outlined in the Beverly Bootstraps Employee Handbook.

Minimum Qualifications:
● Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent program
● Experience: At least two years of related work experience. Experience with furniture sales a plus
● OR: An equivalent combination of education and experience.
● Successful CORI and Background check

● A working knowledge of computers
● Must have the ability to work with and take direction from the management team
● Must be able to work well with volunteers, donors, customers and staff
Primary Physical Requirements:
Employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Employee will need to interface with a variety of donors and customers and be able to resolve donor and customer questions and issues. Employee must be able to stock items in the store. The employee must be able to work well with volunteers, donors, customers and staff.
