Our OBGYN office is seeking a dedicated Front Desk/Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our office. This position requires a blend of administrative, clinical, and medical assistant skills.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Manage patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently, ensuring all necessary paperwork is complete and accurate.
- Schedule appointments and maintain an organized calendar to accommodate patient needs.
- Handle incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide guidance as needed.
- Process billing, handle insurance verification, and manage authorizations.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting area.
- Assist with maintaining medical records in compliance with privacy and security regulations.
- Facilitate communication between patients and medical staff.
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with medical examinations as needed.
- Administer injections or medications as directed by the healthcare provider.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in Medical Administration or Medical Assisting is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Front Desk Assistant or similar role in a healthcare setting, with exposure to medical assistant duties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in medical software systems and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
