A Warehouse Clerk oversees and keeps records of all shipments throughout the daily workload. More specifically, they are responsible for organizing, sorting, packing and creating labels for packages from one location to another. They monitor company packages from the start to finish, ensuring proper packing techniques and shipping practices. The role of a Shipping Clerk extends to taking care of requests within the company and customer requests while updating management about daily shipped records. Will assist in assembly and inventory as needed.
Qualifications:
- One to two years’ experience in a warehouse picking/shipping position
- UPS and Fedex software a plus
- Monday – Friday 8am-5pm
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Knowledge of International documents is preferred
- Occasional overtime
- Must be able to work and stand for long periods of time
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Processing shipping labels for small parcel such as FedEx and UPS
- Filling customer orders according to company policy
- Using computer hardware and software to generate labels and maintain equipment
- Obtain and process product orders, including international documentation and distributing packages to company carriers.
- Cycle Counts
- Assemble light bars, light sticks or other products produced in house.
- Create labels for international, LTL and domestic shipments.
- Maintain the department area through organizing, cleaning on a regular basis.
- Schedule LTL shipments and plan to ensure that international/LTL/domestic outgoing orders are processed in a timely manner.
- Help unload incoming containers
- Spot check bins and FIFO merchandise
- Keep files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for invoicing.
- Ensure adherence to environmental management and systems
- Prepare pallet shipments using stretch wrap and a strapping tool.
- Using manual pallet jacket as needed
- Quality check on all items before they are packaged
- Prepares, packs and ships all outgoing merchandise (including returns) according to department procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
