Position Summary
The Investor Relations Manager is responsible for managing the Investor Relations department for the USA, Canada, and Germany with employees located in the USA and the Philippines. This position oversees internal and external investor services, communications and ensures the team is meeting all objectives related to reporting, quality, compliance, regulations, productivity, client services, and project management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develops compelling and appropriate messaging for advisors and investors, and ensures communications are disseminated promptly, efficiently, and in accordance with all regulations
- Nurtures relationships with clients and investors, including handling requests for information; implements strategies to ensure the organization's relationships reflect positively on the company; develops and maintain positive relationships with clients/investors and/or the general financial community
- Develops a deep understanding of company business and operations, project financial performance and strategies through fact-finding with key company executives and department heads; monitors changes and trends in relevant investment markets and partner with executives to determine appropriate responsive strategies
- Review, understand and have ability to discuss fund PPMs/OMs and trade documents
- Ensure training is coordinated and implemented for the investor relations team, identify needs and action accordingly
- Provide periodic reports & feedback on investor relation topics, client issues and department initiatives.
- Manages relationship with Transfer Agent and Call Center, Phoenix American Financial Services in the USA, Olympia Trust in Canada, and Roedl in Germany, as well as relationships with custodian partners
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments and trends for investment opportunities, assesses the impact, and collaborates with executive/senior management to enhance current and future strategies
- Handles incoming calls, primarily escalations and complaints and follows protocol for escalating and documenting cases.
- Manages investor and advisor database/CRM
- Conducts business with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct
- Launch and manage investor relations campaigns
- Notifies management of obstacles or operating problems requiring the need for additional support and/or supplies
- Participates in meetings and workgroups to acquire and maintain necessary levels of knowledge relating to business developments, industry requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines; collaborate on projects and communicate issues
- Assists with any legal requests and inquiries
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of investor relations, client services or other relevant experience preferred
- Experience and understanding of the investment industry and investor relations is a plus
- Work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, dealing with multiple inquiries
- Ability to handle direct inquiries from investors and resolve investor issues
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with a diverse group of internal contacts at all levels of the organization, existing and prospective investors and advisors
- Proven ability to develop a sense of credibility within the investor community and the organization's management team
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics in a clear, simple, and concise manner
- Exceptional attention to details combined with strong organizational skills, follow-through, and discretion
